Our Story
St Ives & St Leonards Karate Club has been part of the local community for the last 15 years, providing high-quality karate instruction for all ages and abilities. What began as a small group of passionate practitioners has grown into a thriving club. We practise Wado Ryu style karate.
We are part of the Inner Strength Martial Arts Academy (ISMAA), which provides our instructors with ongoing training, grading standards, and access to a wider martial arts community. This affiliation ensures our coaching style is consistent, of the highest quality, and continually evolving.
Our dojo is a place where respect is earned, discipline is cultivated, and every student, regardless of age, fitness, or experience is valued and supported.
What We Believe
Every session begins and ends with a bow. We teach respect to instructors, fellow students and the art itself.
Progress in karate mirrors progress in life. We help promote self-discipline with regular, focused training to build habits.
We genuinely care about each other. Senior students mentor juniors; everyone celebrates each other's achievements.
From 6 to 60, there’s always room to grow — a new step, a new kata, something new to enjoy.
